This ex-voto was found during archaeological excavations in Syria in the 1850s. It was most likely an offering to a Syrian deity. The dedication engraved around her wrist: "Prokla en ex-voto" means "For herself or for her home, to be dedicated". The original work is on display in the Louvre. As part of his collaboration with the Réunion des Musées Nationaux (Organisation of the French National Museum), Cire Trudon presents reproductions in various coloured waxes. This ex voto is adorned with a wick, paying homage to the primary function of a candle, although our wax sculptures are designed to be collected rather than consumed.
