Dominique's first composition for Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, The Night is an ode to the Middle East. In this part of the world, the "night" means much more than the time of freshness in the desert, it is also the time of love and the time of the stars that populate the Milky Way.

Unlike oud wood perfumes that contain at most a trace of this precious raw material, The Night is built around an unprecedented percentage of Indian oud that Dominique has mixed with a generous amount of Turkish rose and amber.
The Night is undoubtedly the most precious perfume in the world. The perfumer: Dominique Ropion trained at the legendary Roure Bertrand Dupont laboratory in Grasse, before working with Jean-Louis Sieuzac, one of the greatest technicians in perfumery.

Today he is IFF's leading perfumer and his work is distinguished by a mix of precision and freedom and by the constant search for new and harmonious accords which arise from the combination of opposing ingredients. Adventurous and instinctive in his creative phase, he is also extremely rigorous in the final stages of the formulation of each of his fragrances.
